Halloween is a magical time of year for children and adults alike. Make your little monster's more memorable by making Halloween decorations together. It's simple and fun and your children will always remember the special times you spent together.
Pumpkin Sil-boo-ettes!

This project makes pumpkin faces to put in the small windows in your front door. These faces will make shadow patterns inside your house when the sun is shining, and silhouettes from outside the house at night. If you'd like to put them in bigger windows enlarge the dimensions to suit your needs.

Supplies:

Computer paper - white or orange
Scissors
Tape

Instructions:

Print GIF or download and print GIF. The gif has two faces on it. The image is 6" x 10" and should be 'centered on page' when printing.

(* If you're crafty you draw your own face features and just follow the instructions eliminating the .gif download and printing.)

Cut pattern in half. Cut out eyes, nose and mouth on each face. Trim paper to fit the small windows in your front door. (They can also be placed as is in any window.)

Tape pattern to window. That's it!

Halloween Napkin Rings

This makes a good craft for a Halloween party. It's fairly quick to do if you do the first four steps prior to the party. Then let the party-goers glue on their own bats, use stickers and sparkles to decorate, and add their names.

Supplies:

  • empty toilet paper rolls
  • printer
  • printer paper (white or color)
  • scissors
  • glue (stick glue works great for kids)
  • crayons, markers or colored pencils

Print out the template of choice:

Template for black and white printers

Template for color printers

  • Color the bats and strips of the blk & wht template and cut out the pieces.
  • Glue the rectangular piece onto the tp roll.
  • Cut the tp roll into 4 pieces along the dotted lines.
  • Glue on the bats to decorate.

Alternative Decorating Ideas:

  • Use stickers, sparkles, sparkle glue, or felt to decorate the napkin ring further.
  • Use a marker to inscribe the name of the guest on each napkin ring.
  • Print the black and white template on construction paper. Print a second copy on white paper and mix & match the pieces.
  • Set your page margins to zero (FILE, PAGE SETUP on most browsers) so the templates print out fully.

Golbat Pokeman Decoration:

Supplies:

  • toilet paper tube
  • a printer
  • paper
  • crayons
  • scissors
  • glue (I always prefer to use a heavy paper - like construction paper, but it isn't necessary.)

Print out the template of choice:

  • Color (where appropriate) and cut out the template pieces.
  • Glue the large rectangular piece on first to cover the tube.
  • Glue on the mouth, eyes, ears and legs.
  • Glue the wings onto the back of the tube.

* Close the template window after printing to return to this screen.

(* Sometimes it may say "No pages available to print". This happens with some browsers and means that you've printed or print previewed once already. If you get this message, click RELOAD or REFRESH on your browser and try printing again.)

Set page margins to zero if you have trouble fitting the template on one page (FILE, PAGE SETUP or FILE, PRINTER SETUP in most browsers).
